Life is never as simple as we want it to be, and at the same time it's far more simple than we think.
It's an annoying thing to think about, I mean, we look at what's behind us and we look at all that lies ahead, and (at least for me) it all seems incredibly daunting. Though, I'm a perfect example of an over-worrier anyway. Yes, I have a penchant for thinking of things in only a scale that will terrify at first glance. A friend of mine, when asked about how simple life's problems should be approached, replied that things need to be broken down into more manageable chunks then attacked with unrelenting, focused, fury. Why can't that be an automatic thought for us worriers? Why can't I see an issue as a body containing many parts, or a serpent with several heads- intimidating, but manageable? I suppose that's just a learned response, the afterglow of some formal education that was relegated to a dark corner or thrown out all together so that the number of a favorite pizza place could be remembered. I think we would all be better off taking more breaths and mapping our routs before taking our first step. That will be part of my new year, finding a balance of sorts between all out panic and complete passivity. I need to find my mad scientist again. -BR

Well, I've seen the Alabama Crimson Tide beat the snot out of a team in person and I've lost five dollars on a horse I'd bet on simply because his name was a math pun (he was also raised at a place called GREEN LANTERN farms)
It's been an interesting weekend. So... Back to work. I just posted a loose digital painting I did of Christina Ricci in the sketchbook section- and, despite best intentions, I'm still mulling over some ideas for iPhone backgrounds- more on that soon. -BR Congratulations to my Dodgers!
I've uploaded some new branding work and am looking into posting some of my iPhone and iPad backgrounds, free, for you guys to download. Keep checking back! -BR I've been doing some spring cleaning around the site and I started with the logo, it was time for a refresh.
Look for more additions to the branding section and one or two new prints for sale in the next few days. It's time to get back into a touch of 'overshare'. For the next few weeks I'll be posting fun stuff from my daily life- a mixture of things I find inspirational and some updates on current projects. I already do an image based, 'idea wall', of sorts over on my tumblr page, so this will be more of a running tab of thoughts.
For now, I need to get to sleep, for some reason I woke up at 5AM and am not a happy boy. See you around! -BR |
